Training and installation

A machine that’s installed on a prepared site and run by a trained team cleans filters consistently from the first week. Here’s how we get there with you.

The site checks before delivery

Each model’s operating instructions begin with the same conditions: the machine connected to the right electrical supply, a compressed-air supply at the right pressure, a full water tank and the machine standing level. We go through each of these for your site while preparing the quote, so the day of installation is spent commissioning and training rather than finding a missing supply.

Supply and air requirements differ between models, and some values are still being confirmed against the current revision of each machine. The rows below show what is approved today; anything marked Awaiting approval is confirmed in writing for your installation.

What you prepare and what we do

Whatever the model, you make the site ready. Who sets the machine up then depends on the model: MET fits the S and the XL Multi+, the V is fitted by MET or your own installer, and the E, the DPF Lite and the WashPRO are set up by the buyer with remote onboarding. Electrical work is always for a qualified, competent person, whoever arranges it.

Electrical supply
Your electrician provides the agreed supply and the protective device your model’s instructions specify, including in a van, where the power source is agreed in advance.
Compressed air
An air line to the machine position, delivering the pressure that model needs.
Water and drainage
Water to fill the tank, and somewhere to drain it into containers during water changes.
Space and floor
Level standing, room for the door to open fully and space to handle filters safely.
Waste
An approved route for used water, sediment, sludge and spent filters.
Delivery and set-up
Included with the S and the XL Multi+; quoted separately for the other models. Delivery is within the UK as standard, and worldwide on request.
Commissioning and handover
Where MET fits the machine, it is run with your team on site; otherwise MET takes you through the first runs remotely. The operating instructions for your model and revision come with the machine.

What’s included, model by model

With the S and the XL Multi+, delivery, fitting and on-site training are included in the price. The V includes training, and MET can fit it in your van at extra cost or your own installer can fit it to the agreed design.

The E is designed for buyers who install it themselves, with instructional videos and remote onboarding from MET; fitting and on-site training are available at extra cost. The DPF Lite and the WashPRO are set up by the buyer, with remote onboarding and support.

METClean E installation
Installed by the buyer, with remote onboarding from MET; fitting by MET is available at extra cost.

METClean S installation
We deliver the S and set it up in your workshop.
METClean S training
Loading, programmes, drying, testing and daily maintenance, on site with your team.
METClean V installation
Fitted in your van by MET at extra cost, or by your own installer.
METClean V training

What your team learns

Training follows the real sequence of a clean on your model, using your filters where possible, whether it happens on site or through remote onboarding. By the end, each operator should be able to run a complete cycle unaided and know when to stop and ask.

  1. Inspecting the filter

Checking the filter’s flow direction and condition, and setting aside filters that are too heavily contaminated or damaged for the machine.

  2. Fitting the adaptor

Choosing a suitable adaptor and fitting it to the filter’s outlet, so the machine flushes against the normal exhaust flow, then connecting it to the machine’s braided wash hose.

  3. Securing the filter

Clamping or strapping the filter in place, depending on the model, securing any pipes or cables, and double-checking it before the door is closed.

  4. Testing, on machines that test

Running the pre-test on the S, and on XL machines that have it, and filling in the printout details such as the company, operator, customer and filter serial number.

  5. Running the programme

Starting the automatic sequence of prewash, wash and high-pressure impact, understanding the soft-start and wash settings, and stopping safely, including the emergency stop.

  6. Drying

Changing to the drying hose where the model uses one, running the drying programme, and recognising when a saturated filter, often a combined DPF and catalyst, needs finishing in an oven or on the vehicle instead.

  7. Routine care

The daily checks, reading the alarm screen, draining and cleaning the water filters, and changing the water.

Safety is part of the training

Every set of instructions opens with the same safety material, and training covers it in full. Pneumatic doors and clamps create pinch points, so operators keep clear of moving parts, close doors using the two-handed operation where fitted, and never reach into the machine while it’s running.

Before maintenance or inspection, the machine is isolated from the mains and locked off so it can’t be restarted. Operators wear gloves, safety glasses and protective footwear, and anyone new to the machine is trained before using it. Electrical work, including anything described in the fuse designation guide, is for a qualified electrician only.
