Who the DPF Lite is for
The DPF Lite is the bench machine in the range, for smaller garages that want to offer off-vehicle DPF cleaning without the cost or floor space of a full cabinet. It runs a controlled cleaning cycle once the filter is secured and started, so the technician can get on with other work in the meantime.
It suits a workshop starting out in DPF cleaning, or one that cleans filters occasionally and wants to stop sending them away. Someone still checks, loads, starts and unloads every filter: the cycle runs without constant attention, but the machine doesn’t replace the technician’s judgement.
The Lite is designed for you to set up yourself. MET onboards you remotely and supports you afterwards, so there is no installation visit to arrange or wait for.
Not the right fit if- Heavy-duty work. Truck, bus, plant and agricultural filters need the longer working space of the XL platform.
- Cleaning from a van. The V is designed around a van installation.
- Workshops that sell cleaning on evidence and want a pressure pre-test and a printed before-and-after record. That is the S.
- Filters that are cracked, melted or otherwise damaged. Cleaning removes ash and soot; it doesn’t repair a substrate.
- METClean E
- You clean regularly enough to justify a cabinet, with the filter washed behind a closed door, and want the entry point to the cabinet range.
- METClean S
- You want every job to run on a programme, with a pressure pre-test, hot drying and a printed record for the customer.
- METClean V
- You want to take DPF cleaning to your customers from a van rather than run it on a workshop bench.
Filters it takes
The Lite is aimed at the diesel particulate filters a smaller garage sees day to day. The filter is secured on the bench and connected to the wash hose, and a side table extends to support longer filters that wouldn’t otherwise sit on the bench.
Inspect every filter before it goes on. One that is soaked in oil or coolant, cracked or melted needs its cause found first, because cleaning removes ash and soot but won’t repair a damaged substrate. If you work on a particular make or a combined DPF and catalyst unit, ask us to check it at the demonstration.

A normal job, start to finish
The sequence below follows MET’s product information for the Lite. Its operating instructions aren’t published yet, so exact settings, flow direction and drying are covered at handover.
- Check the machine. Power and workshop air connected, the tank filled and the bench level. Extend the side table first if the filter is a long one.
- Inspect the filter. Look for cracks, melting and heavy oil or coolant contamination. A damaged filter needs a different conversation with the customer, not a clean.
- Connect and secure. Connect the filter to the wash hose, with an adaptor where needed, and secure it on the bench before anything runs.
- Choose the mode and set the regulators. Automatic for a normal job, or manual and manual-water modes when a filter needs more hands-on control. Air and water are set independently and read on the live gauges.
- Run the cycle. In automatic mode the Lite runs its controlled cycle on its own, so the technician can return to other work rather than standing over it.
- Check and unload. Inspect the filter when the cycle ends, then disconnect it and dry it as MET’s instructions set out before it goes back on the vehicle.
How many filters you can clean in a day depends on the cycle settings, how blocked the filters are and how the water holds up. Cycle duration isn’t published while MET confirms it, so plan capacity with us using your own job mix rather than a headline number.
Because the automatic cycle doesn’t need someone standing over it, the real cost of each clean is mostly the technician’s time loading, checking and unloading, which is worth allowing for when you price the service.

Three modes, one bench
What the Lite does, and what it leaves to the technician or to another model.
- Automatic cycle
- A controlled cleaning cycle that runs once started, with water pumped through the filter and back to the machine’s filtration. The technician checks the result at the end.
- Manual modes
- Manual and manual-water modes give the technician direct control when a filter needs more attention than the automatic cycle gives it.
- Air and water regulation
- Air and water are regulated independently, each with its own live gauge, so you can see what the machine is doing while it runs.
- Water tank
- Holds the water for the cleaning cycle. When it is changed follows MET’s operating instructions for the Lite.30 litres
- Testing and reporting
- MET’s current Lite information doesn’t describe a pressure test or a printed report. If your customers expect a before-and-after record, look at the S.

Closed-loop water and waste handling
The DPF Lite holds its water in a tank, with approved cleaning product where MET specifies it, and pumps it through the filter during the cleaning cycle. The returning water passes through the machine’s filtration, which captures soot, ash and other contamination. How many cleaning cycles one tank fill serves is set by MET’s operating instructions for the Lite, so no figure is given here until those instructions are approved.
When the water reaches the end of its useful service, the machine is isolated and emptied following MET’s instructions. Used water, sediment and spent filters are kept and disposed of through your approved waste-disposal route, never to ground, surface water or an ordinary drain. The tank and reusable filters are cleaned before refilling.
- Step 1: TankFilled with the required volume of water, plus approved cleaning product where specified.
- Step 2: PumpWater is pumped through the filter during the cycle.
- Step 3: Filter on the benchWater leaving the DPF returns to the machine’s filtration.
- Step 4: FiltrationCaptures soot, ash and contamination. Reuse follows the operating instructions.
- Step 5: End of serviceIsolate, empty, retain water, sediment and spent filters for approved disposal. Clean tank and filters, then refill.

Owning a DPF Lite
Delivery, installation and training
Before delivery we agree where the Lite will stand, the single-phase supply, workshop air at the bench, and how the tank will be filled and emptied. You set the Lite up yourself, with MET onboarding you remotely through the first runs.
Onboarding covers securing and connecting a filter, choosing a mode, reading the gauges and changing the water. Bring everyone who will run the machine into it, so cleaning doesn’t depend on one technician.
Maintenance and parts
Day to day, keep the bench and connections clean, check the hose and adaptors, and watch the water condition. When the operating instructions call for it, the machine is isolated, emptied and cleaned, and the filters are inspected or changed.
Adaptors, filter elements and cleaning product come from the MET shop. Keep the machine’s serial number to hand when ordering parts or asking for help.
Warranty and support
Business buyers get a one-year parts-only warranty on the Lite, and service and extended warranty plans are available on request. Cover depends on following the safety and operating instructions. Support is remote, from the MET team who build the machine.
When you ask for help, send the model and serial number, the mode you were running, the gauge readings and a photo of the filter. It is usually the quickest way to a fix.

Manuals and evidence
The Lite’s operating instructions aren’t published yet. Ask for the current document with your quote; public downloads will follow once MET approves it. The pages below explain water handling, maintenance and what cleaning can and can’t fix.
Questions buyers ask
Does the Lite need someone with it?
Someone loads, connects and starts each filter, then checks and unloads it afterwards. In automatic mode the cycle itself runs without constant attention.
What is the difference between the Lite and a cabinet machine?
The Lite is a lower-cost bench machine. A cabinet washes the filter behind a closed door, and the S adds a pressure pre-test, hot drying and a printed record.
Who installs the Lite?
You do. The Lite is designed to be set up by the buyer, with remote onboarding and support from MET.
How many filters before I change the water?
That interval comes from MET’s operating instructions for the Lite and isn’t published yet. Heavily contaminated filters load the water more quickly.
What does it need on site?
A standard single-phase supply, workshop compressed air at the bench, water to fill the tank and an approved route for disposing of used water and sediment.
