YC Autotech: when the local DPF cleaner closed

Yianni Constandinou’s Essex business, YC Autotech, used to send its DPFs out for cleaning. When that supplier closed, he saw a gap, bought a METClean E and started doing the cleaning himself.

A gap in the market

YC Autotech already did mechanical and electrical work, DPF jobs included. The cleaning itself went to an outside supplier, until that supplier closed.

Yianni saw the chance to offer the service locally through his own business, and a METClean E let him do it.

Not our first conversation

Yianni was already buying diagnostic equipment and tuning tools from MET, so when it came to a cleaning machine he talked it through with Sy, someone he already knew.

The E slotted in alongside the work YC Autotech was already doing. It was an addition to the business, not a new one started from scratch.

Work from other businesses

Yianni sees the machine as part of a wider increase in work. As well as filters from his own jobs, DPFs now come in from other garages and local parts suppliers.

Easy to use, and looked after

Yianni finds the E very easy to use. And when its door seal broke, Sy arranged a replacement. That’s the moment Yianni points to when he talks about the support he gets.

“The support is amazing. When the door seal broke, Sy sent me a replacement.”
